Work Opportunities
We have work opportunities here at Sun Swept Farm and we are looking to create connections with folks of like minds that will develop into long term relationships. We have a dream of having a self-sustainable community here one day. This is not only our dream, but we feel it will be a necessity in the near future. Farm Manager
We are looking for an individual to oversee gardens, produce, and sale along side me (dORY). More of a partnership than an employee-ship. In that, I mean the right someone could come here and manage gardens and be responsible for the marketing of produce where the manager would reap most of the profit from this business effort, i.e., make one's own business with us. This person would be the merchant. We would be the land and the support for that effort. Further discussion would need to be in person.
Cider Presser (fall)
We will have a cider press set up to make bottle cider, either from apples we obtain (not enough here on the farm alone this year... that will change. We live in apple country.) We will be set up to hire if someone wants to press their own apples or ours. We will also have the means to hook a trailer up to truck and move cider press and rig to anywhere we want and press. That could be at farmer's markets, parties, church gatherings, schools, music, you name it. Call us at: 828-622-7145 or email us at dory@sunsweptfarm.net to schedule. We need teams of two to profit-share this opportunity this fall. Cider press will chop apples by foot power on a bike to power blades. We have access to jugs, apples, and the know-how.
Fencing
5 acres need fencing. We will hire contract labor to complete this job.
Blueberry Pickers
Blueberry pickers in blueberry season (late June through end of July). Will pay by the gallon.
Farm Intern
Living space and boarding in exchange for hours given to farm's needs.
