What a wonder time we had with Marco, Don Martin, Yolinda, & Isabella, our peruvian guests. We started our weekend together on friday with about 20 people who chose to join us. we walked sole over to that part of our land we call ANANDA ( all in conservancy now, mostly never to be developed as part of the FOREVER WILD PROJECT). there in the stone circle, begun by the children who attended camp here 15 years ago, we came together and made a dispatcho, and ritual of focus and a blessing to the land, and to the wellness of each of us. Through the weekend we danced, sang harmonies, jammed with many voices through the times of music. being above 3400 ft, spring was still to come high on the north slopes deep still in the spring light's shadows, cooler and slower to awaken. there we all hiked into the abundance of a forest still whole. life is vibrant there, rich with the nurishment of a system that is thriving. we were blessed by the weather and the moments communing with nature on the hillside in deep forest.
twice we went up max patch, the second time was with all four peruvians to call the winds. this was sunday morning. call the winds we did. while playing and honoring this windy naked top, a juvenille golden eagle arose to the west, struggling with the winds of the coming storms. he/she struggled to gain altitude and find a thermal, which the giant bird finally did disappearing further to the west only more south. the sky opened up and offered hale which we ate, and then watch the skies below us broil over weaverville.
the winds were strong that night and for the next few days., along with the rain, the weather has changed here,, we are wet this year compared to last.
Frank Cook came by late sunday and again just before the storms hit us, we walked deep into this rich forest. we are so blessed by this green life we live in here. frank made a point of saying we have time still to play at sustainability, but soon we will need all our skills to be that. i agree with his message.
a WOMNDERFUL weekend was had by all, shared in circle, no leader, only the circle carrying the event to be what it was. we will all remember.........

Cider Press
September, October, November we will be able to make apple and/or fruit cider with our antique cider press. Bring your own apples or we will provide apples so you can press your own cider. The chipper for the apples used to be hand cranked; now you can sit on our stationary bike and pedal your apples into chipped apples ready for pressing. We will provide plastic gallon jugs and our supervision and assistance. Scheduled times we are open for this will be posted here in august. Look for us at local fairs and events with our press and "Make Cider" trailer.
